A PVT. Matter

2021

Nearing the end of World War II, Penny Edwards must come to terms with the reality of her abusive marriage after her husband’s death. This film explores the idea that not all hero’s are as they seem. Plagued by guilt and trauma she must make the decision whether to move on and escape the hold her husbands abuse still has on her or be consumed by it.

My Role

For this film I was both the Production Designer and Costume designer. For this experimental film I worked under lockdown restrictions to create a COVID safe set outside. Creating a dining room scene in the woods. I love period projects and this was a great opportunity to research WWII in order to make it as historically accurate as possible. I created my own graphics making a prop cigarette tin and funeral leaflet along with the poster for the film. I also sourced costumes such as a soldiers uniform with real WWII medals and 1940s coins as props.
